So with a house design finalised and a site selected, we had a meeting with the council planners to make sure they would be likely to approve the plan, and make sure that we had all the paperwork together.
The planner was a little concerned about the location, and asked us to come back in a few days after she had formally reviewed it with her supervisor.
Four days later – all good. While the length of the driveway was a concern from a bushfire point of view, as long as we put in an escape path to the neighbouring farm then they would approve.
Fantastic – we’re on our way. We engage a planning consultant to help us navigate the system, and submit the paperwork….
